A Coptic Orthodox Wedding at Liberty House in Jersey City
Christina and Jared celebrated their wedding with a traditional Coptic Orthodox ceremony followed by a reception at Liberty House in Jersey City, New Jersey. It was a day filled with family, tradition, emotional moments, and an incredible celebration overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
Coptic Orthodox weddings are especially meaningful to photograph because of the symbolism and traditions throughout the ceremony. Rather than interrupting those moments, my approach is to document them naturally while also creating elegant portraits of the couple and their families.
Wedding Photography at Liberty House
Liberty House is one of my favorite waterfront wedding locations in the New York and New Jersey area. Its location in Jersey City offers an incredible combination of open outdoor space, modern interiors, and unobstructed views of Lower Manhattan.
For Christina and Jared’s portraits, we used the waterfront and surrounding grounds of Liberty House while keeping the session relaxed and natural. The Manhattan skyline creates a distinctly New York backdrop without having to leave the venue, which gives couples more time to enjoy their wedding day.
Throughout the reception, I focused primarily on candid moments, family interactions, and the energy of the celebration, balancing documentary wedding photography with a smaller number of editorial portraits.

Having photographed multicultural and Orthodox weddings, I know how important it is to understand the traditions of the ceremony while still allowing the day to unfold naturally.
My photography combines documentary storytelling with an elegant editorial approach. During the ceremony and reception, I concentrate on genuine moments and interactions. When we have dedicated portrait time, I provide more direction to create timeless photographs without turning the wedding into a photoshoot.
